Dr. Darbys' private practice includes adolescents and adults, and offers various services and treatments: individual psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychotropic medication management.  

 

He has advanced training in a number of psychotherapy modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), prolonged exposure for PTSD, cognitive processing therapy for PTSD, mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, psychodynamic therapy, eclectic psychotherapy, among others. He is an expert clinician for diagnosis and treatment of a number of psychiatric disorders including: Anxiety Disorders, Burnout, Depressive Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, PTSD, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders (OCD), Generalized Anxiety Disorders, Panic Disorders, among others.

 

Dr. Darby specializes in medication management (or pharmacotherapy) in addition to psychotherapy. Dr. Darby has unique expertise as an academic psychiatrist on the most cutting-edge and evidence-based medication and psychotherapeutic approaches that reflect the field’s most current knowledge and understanding.

Dr. Darby is a proponent of personalized medicine and is adept in applying his psychiatric expertise to best fit and match the needs of the individual. Dr. Darby believes in going beyond treating the symptoms of a disease with holistic treatment that starts by truly understanding the individual’s narrative and experience of their illness. He is experienced and skillful in telepsychiatry (delivering psychiatric assessments and care via telecommunications technology including videoconferencing) as well as home visits for his patients in which those methods are preferred and indicated.
